Back to Kalvi Kan project

After long period of gap, i had a chance to be a part of kalvi kan team. This week team was leaded by Dhilip with the members namely Vinod, Sindhuja, Vj, Velu and myself. For all our surprise our CM reached the meeting spot ahead of all by 8.30 itself. 

The day started with good news. Ya Aazraya found a place in news through a article. We were so eager to go through the article and checked out the photos, I able to find myself in that group photo. We able to reach New Life by 10.30. This time trip to home is little different. Instead of car, we took auto to reach the spot by time.

We able to gather the kids without much trouble this time. Sindhuja & Vj distributed the notes. As planned Dhilip, Vj and Velu formed the group and started the classes. Sindhuja & Vinod took incharge of PD section. I found myself a place in all teams. Its nice feelings to see those kids learning through us. I should thank for all those who brought this project into live.

By 1 classes gets over and we started to play 'Current pass' game which was introduced by Vj. I loved that game. It took me back to child age. This week a group of Korean people visited the home, as usual CM gave an short intro about Aazraya and with them we had a delicious lunch.

Around 2, kids started to call us for playing cricket with them. Though it sunny, we manage to play with them in full energy. The match was great and with help of my great knock we able to win the match in big margin. All surprised by seeing the ball keep flying to boundaries during my knock.

We took 3.30 bus from New Life and day ended with full happiness and peace.

You can ask me a question why i was so mad towards this family(Aazraya). Here is the simple answer for those who keep questioning me.

During my UG college life, i was active member in Rotract club. I and my college mates did some projects, like visiting homes, conducting rally, etc., etc., But i personally felt to continue to help the needy one as much i can. I keep asking myself the way where i can fulfill my long desire. As my college gets over, i quit the Rotract club, kept myself away from my dream due to my career life.

Until i reach Aazraya, the meaning for happiness and peace in my dictionary remains unknown to me. I really want to thank Vinod who bought some meaning into my life. Being my senior, Vinod found a place in my Orkut friend list. I keep visiting Aazraya community and was so eager in knowing the activities.I keeping telling myself that i should call him one day or another. But my college life made it tougher. Months and days passed away, before i made my first call to Vinod. From that time still now, Aazraya became a part of my life. Am wrong by saying it has a part, to be frank my 50% of life is towards Aazraya.

17th of May, 2009 was the day I joined the family of happiness. Vinod took me to New Life, which supposed to be a first visit by Aazraya to New Life. Being a new face to Aazraya, I kept myself quite and keep watching the other members. Soon after i enter the New Life, I felt like my dream is  going to be fulfilled sooner or later. All those kids made me comfortable and i started to mix with them.

17th May found a place in my life dairy. With or without knowing me Ramana became so close to me. I guess there should be any sought of relationship exited between us. This might sound odd to all of you, even i asked myself why i was close to him. But till now i left it as a unanswered one.

From then i make sure i visit the home twice a month. In my personal life, i have faced lots of disappointments, failures, sadness and even i have been cheated by dearest one. But in this family, still now i have seen happiness and peace only.

I will keep writing myself about day to day life with Aazraya.

First recognition for Aazraya

Hey friends we got our first ever recognition for our work from leading newspaper. This shows that our society is watching us closely. An article about Aazraya is going to be published either on 28th February or on 7th march. So don't miss out to check the newspaper.

This certainly going to add extra responsibilities to our shoulder. I personally feel this as a gift from society on our first birthday. I use this post to thank all of you heartedly for your works and timely help which made us to reach this position. Our team spirit keep on grows.

First Year Anniversary Celebration

Aazraya celebrated its first birthday on February 21st, 2010. The day was awesome for all members who attended it. For first time in our day, our Chairman reported at Tambaram railway station before all of them. By morning 9 around 30 members moved to New Life. The day with fun and jubilation are waiting ahead of us.


Myself and Velusamy waited in railway station for picking up few more members. We were surprised to see the first team is waiting for us at Sri Krishna Engg college. From there we left to New Life hoping the day to be unforgettable for all our members. I was happy to see all of them in fully charged and waiting to rock the show. All of us reached New Life by 11.


By the time we reached New life, Saradha Sevashram kids reached New Life.The kids of new life were all dressed in new cute costumes and the mood of the children was really contagious that we instantly started on the roll. The kids of new life were already practicing yoga in full swing along with the kids of Saradha Sevashram. It was colorful show to watch kids practicing yoga. As usual all kids started to run towards us in enjoy and happiness. All preparation went in right way. Mala akka and Raji allocated the provisions to both homes by list given by them. I guess Malar and group had a great walk in hot sun. Van went little lately to pick up them. Jaggy, Dany 1&2, Malar joined us by noon. Hope they enjoyed some photo section on the way to New Life.

Srividya akka was Master of Ceremony,as all of us know, how she was good at Tamil. I can see the girls helping the kids with the makeup and costumes and kids running behind Reddy akka to see them dressed in a beautiful costume.

All those scenes there remembered me, my school annual day celebrations. By the time, singing and Yoga section were going on upstairs. To be frank Saradha Sevashram kids rocked the whole show with their special talents. Vinod had a tough time in controlling those kids and to keep them silent. The voice of those kids made all our members to assemble in Kalai Kovil.

It was already afternoon , lunch bell started to ring in every stomach. Briyani smell pulled all of us to the dining hall. Our Aazraya members made prior arrangement for those kids to have a delicious lunch. As usual we had a good lunch with those those kids. Soon after lunch our CM asked all of them to assemble in Kalai Kovil as it already time to start a program.

Our Chief guest are already made their present on time and eagerly waiting for start of the program. Srividya akka beautifully put the crowd to rest and what an awesome compiring she had rendered. Program went as planned. I guess Vinod gave out the emotional speech and gave wonderful intro about all members over there. But for most of us it was great Mokai given by him. Sindhuja did a great job by preparing the annual report and it  was read out sweetly by Keerthi. Dhilip, Kams & Jamuna joined as by afternoon. they really missed out first half. Here i have to mention few words about them. All three attend the event putting away their health problems. 

Kids went to cloud 9 when they received their prices which they won. I still remember one thing. Ramana cried and followed me asking for the prize, this shows how kids are to get the prizes. I personally felt like celebrating my first birthday. Birthday song sang by those kids was cho sweet.


As sun rays passes through the Kalai Kovil, our architect Dany took some awesome snaps. This photo found the place in my all time favorite collection. 

Group photos are always part of our celebration. A number of snaps has been taken all corner of New Life.
 At end of the day it turned out to be an unforgettable day in my life. Learnt lot regrading managing events. Lets keep rocking by helping the needy one.
